Timo wins 3rd place in 2014 EPSON INTERNATIONAL PANO AWARDS

Posted on 22nd September 2014

I am delighted one my images from this year's expedition to the Empty Quarter desert won third place in the 2014 Epson International Pano Awards. This follows last year's win of the overall competition. Gale-force winds battered the desert that day, but the light was just incredible. The Epson International Pano Awards showcases the work of panoramic photographers worldwide and is the largest competition for panoramic photography.

EXHIBITION at FRESHFIELDS LONDON RAISES MONEY FOR CHARITY

Posted on 31st May 2014

International law firm Freshfields hosted an exhibition of 24 of my landscape photographs in their London offices in May this year. Part of the proceeds were donated to the British Red Cross to support climate change adaptation projects. Commenting on the event corporate partner Claire Wills said "Timo’s dramatic photographs have attracted a lot of attention within the office. The Arctic region features heavily in my work so I’m pleased this exhibition is supporting climate change projects – the effects of which are particularly significant...

I had seen similar patterns before but none as symmetrical and well placed as this one. I had to be quick setting up all my gear as the pattern got washed away by the waves shortly after. The image is a good example of how...

Featured photo - Basking in the Northern lights

Posted on 1st November 2012

Northern lights will never stop to amaze me. I have seen them many times by now but this particular moment was special – beautiful red and green Aurora lights dancing above a single iceberg in Arctic Greenland. I hiked to this particular spot, 250km north of the Arctic Circle, a few nights in a row in the hope of a good display – and finally got the shot I was after. To give a sense of scale – the ice wall is probably just under 80m in height.
